SEO Specialist

This job is for a UK company, managing a team of people and liaising with colleagues and MD.

Job Mission:

The role of the SEO specialist is to develop and implement an SEO strategy for a Group of websites (7), coordinate with other point of sales and departments on SEO strategy, and develop and document SEO expertise within the industry. You will be expected to recruit people, set strategy, train your staff and keep up to date and ahead of the game.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- SEO Strategy

1. Identify the key initiatives for the Group worldwide

SEO strategy, acting on all levers (pages, content, linking, technology, buzz…) to increase traffic and sales from unbranded SEO

2. Define the objectives, plan & model the impact of these initiatives to feed into the budget process

3. Communicate to hierarchy and peers on the initiatives & results

- SEO Operations

1. Implement the different initiatives of defined strategy, working with internal and external contacts

2. Measure and report on all initiatives vs objectives, stop and/or expand

3. SEO analysis: global and detailed SEO results monitoring report, analysis of specific questions and additional knowledge to feedback to the business (trends, behaviours..)

4. Test and learn new techniques and approaches

- Coordination & Expertise

1. Coordinate with Programming team on SEO related projects & technology support

2. Foster knowledge and learning regarding SEO within the Group regions by being the most up to date on SEO news and changes

3. Take active part in SEO work stream with ownership for some items

4. Coordinate with Departmental Managers

5. Share initiatives, best practice and results

Success Criteria:

Essential

• Excellent SEO technical skills & expertise:

1. a detailed understanding of Google webmaster guidelines, of keyword research and targeting, of content management systems and knowledge of content principles

2. understanding of cookies, redirects, server configuration, url configuration, coding of html and javascript and analytics tagging approaches

3. hands on SEO experience

• At least 2 years experience of managing SEO for an online retailer or media in a competitive market (or you could be an SEO specialist with a track record of success in the private sector)

• Good analytical skills

• Good relationship & communication skills

• Awareness of how to do good linkbuilding, social media and PPC

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Experience in recruiting, managing and training a team

• Experience of dealing directly with clients

• Awareness of where to find the answers to any internet marketing questions

• Ability to manage your own time and focus on results

Highly Desirable

• Knowledge of other online marketing channels and their interactions with SEO

The successful applicant will be working under direct supervision from our headquarters in the UK. You will need to possess a very good command of the English language. You will also need to be highly organised, have an excellent telephone manner and a good command of Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to work flexible hours, especially early mornings/late evenings would be an advantage.

Job purpose:

Maintain records of financial transactions by writing the daybooks (purchase, sales, receipts, and payments). Responsible for ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger. Bring the books to the trial balance stage.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Manage & maintain all statutory administration & reporting, management accounts, bank accounts, invoicing, salaries, debt & cost control, dividends, tax and management & development of policies, systems, processes & personnel involved (in conjunction with Financial Controller)
Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, and annual accounts (in conjunction with Financial Controller)
Liaise with functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of their departments from the bookkeeper
Develop systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions
Balance subsidiary accounts by recording entries
Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
Balance general ledger by preparing trial balance, reconciling entries
Maintain historical records by filing documents
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarising account information and trends
Comply with local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, advising management on needed actions
Take a leading role in controlling costs and creating financial efficiencies across all the companies
Processing credit card payments using virtual credit card terminals
Prepare weekly list of outgoing bank transfers required for the Managing Director
Focus on achieving pre-agreed timescale deadlines for all projects/work
Maintain awareness and knowledge of new/improved financial methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organisation
Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, insurance, environmental policies and general duty of care
Share initiatives, best practice and results

Skills/Qualifications

At least 2yrs experience as a bookkeeper
Knowledge of SAGE

Developing standards, analysing information, dealing with complexity, reporting research results, data entry skills, accounting, attention to detail, confidentiality, thoroughness
