International Jobs

These online companies act as intermediaries between international companies and skilled work force worldwide. You can find your own job and work at the comfort of your home. The payment is generally sent through PayPal or Xoom.

You can apply for jobs in your related fields, or if you’re not the type who has the technical skills required, then here’s a good article on how you canĀ earn money by using these sites: Working from Home Ideas | Even Without the Technical Skills

Odesk Odesk is one of the safest and most reliable services for getting your own international job while working from home. Best of all, it is free.

You have to take their entrance test (which is open notes by the way and which you can take as many times as you have to). They also have several tests for various skills. The more tests you pass, the better you will look for prospective clients. Take as many takes as you want (Microsoft Word Test, Excel Test, Data Entry Test, and etc.)

To be safe, work on an hourly basis and not on a project basis. You can work on a project basis if the client or company has a good rating and feedback from previous freelancers.

Take note that Odesk takes 10% from the amount that your client pays you, but that is a very small price to pay since your pay is guaranteed as long as you work on an hourly basis and using their free monitoring software.

Craigslist

Craigslist is one of the most popularly used sites for posting and availing of jobs. You can even find a job in your locale. The good thing about Craigslist is that you are in direct contact with the client. That is, you receive a full 100% of what the client pays you. Craigslist doesn’t take anything from you.

The downside is that there is always a risk that the client will run away. There is no guaranteed payment so you will have to take measures and research well about the client or company you are applying for.

No pain, no gain. It’s worth it to take the risk, but the amount of risk should be managed. If you want to minimize the risks, read the How to Avoid SCAMs and Minimize Risk page.

GetAFreelancer

GetAFreelancer is another good site. They have a free and paid membership. If you have some money on your PayPal account, then I would recommend having a paid membership since you will be given priority in getting jobs. GetAFreelancer is a legitimate company and they have been around for quite a while.

The three I mentioned before are my top picks. Often, you just have to focus on one site since each site really has a lot of opportunities. But here are some other websites you can rely on:
