GIGA Ventures is the family business of husband and wife, Peping and Joy de Villa. They started the venture in December 2000 by initially buying natural soap in bulk, which were then repacked and marketed as corporate gifts. The consumer response on GIGA’s repacked product proved favourable to the business which encouraged the couple to go into the manufacture of natural soaps themselves. Immediately on the following year the company got into research and development. Their final products found their way to bazaars, specialty stores, department stores, and pharmacies. Later, additional items are added into their lines as they develop more natural based products.
Local marketing was enhanced, in early 2005, when GIGA entered into an agreement with a distribution company which marketed its products in Metro Manila, and showcasing them on department stores and pharmacies. Later the year, GIGA opened its first store at the Fashion Village of Tiendesitas en Fontera Verde at Ortigas corner C5 in Pasig City. From there, GIGA opened additional outlets on supermarkets annually. You can find their outlets in Greenhills Shopping Centers, and SM Mega Malls.
International marketing. In 2007, GIGA started exporting to Asia thru a Hongkong based partner. Today, GIGA products are marketed and distributed in Australia, Hawaii, Korea and the United Kingdom.
