Keeping Your Client and Your Projects | Work from Home Tips

Report to your clients regularly. The first and perhaps the most important factor that would be the key to your future success is reporting your progress to your clients on a regular schedule. On a general note, you can have an agreed date, for example, every Saturday. Some clients require that you report daily. Preparing your report well and making sure that the client is updated can be one of the major factors for your promotion or salary raise.

Adopt a No-Surprises policy. If anything goes wrong that could affect whether or not your tasks will be finished on time, then you should report it immediately. If you have any concerns that you think may affect work in the future, raise it to the client immediately so he can prepare for it as well.

Take notes and Keep a Things-To-Do list. Keep your notes and update it regularly. Whatever the client says on the phone, on email, or chat, note it down and add it to your Things to Do list. Keeping a list of your goals is very important. In a study of Harvard students, only 10% of the students had clear goals and these students earn at least 3 times the other students who do not have goals. Furthermore, only 3% of the students kept written goals, and it is this same 3% that earn 10 times as much as everyone else.

Spend 1 hour a day improving your skills. Read books, magazines, and online tutorials. Research news about your latest field from the internet. This will put you ahead your competition–other work-from-home people. Remember that if your client is not satisfied with your skill set and performance, he can always find someone else.

Buy or download free audiobooks on personal success and achievement audio seminars. You can have these playing while driving your car, on your MP3 or iPod, or on a home stereo while doing chores. It is said that one seminar is equivalent to reading 50 books on that field.

Work every hour that you work
. When you’re working, make sure that you are focused on the work. Avoid any distractions such as using your Messenger, doing Facebook, or using any other application and trying to multitask. There’s a big difference between the quality and quantity of work of someone who’s focused on the task and someone who doesn’t take it seriously. Trust me, it will show.

Making Money Online | How to Get More Visitors

The first thing I check on the internet when I wake up is usually the statistics for our blog sites using Google Analytics. It’s quite exciting to see when a new blog I’m trying to promote is growing in terms of the number of visitors. It’s even more exciting to see that the visitors  stay for at 3 minutes to even 20 minutes at a time and visit quite a number of pages on the sites. It gives me a rewarding feeling! The more visitors my site gets, the higher my earning potential from advertising networks such as Google Adsense!

The thing is, there’s a “secret” about how to get more visitors from search engines, but it’s really a no-brainer. Now I decided to share that with you for free. I’ve done this technique over and over, and I’ve found over and again that it really works.

Here it is:

Write articles that will make people STAY. To be more specific, your goal should be for your readers to stay at least 1-3 minutes on your article. The longer they stay the better it will be for you. Now, it doesn’t have to be an article really, it can be a video, a picture, or anything you can place that can make your visitor stay.

Ask yourself the questions:

–is there anything on my site that does not help me achieve that goal?

–is there anything I need to add to my site (i.e. a comprehensive navigation to the different sections of my site or blog, more good articles, interesting videos, and so on.)

–is the design of my site helping to keep the visitor’s interest and does it allow him to see the important parts of your site?

–if someone I don’t know comes to my site, what reason will he have to stay?

If you can just focus on this one thing alone, then you are on the road to success.

Secret # 2

This next secret which I will share to you is not really a secret. People in the business of building sites or blogs are generally aware of something called Search Engine Optimization. For now, it will be enough for you to know that it’s about getting links to your site so that search engines frequently crawl it. I would suggest that you type “free directories” in Google and submit to several of those. Bookmark your sites on Delicious, Digg, Technorati, and other social bookmarking sites. I usually spend a day of doing this when starting a new blog, then I just focus on getting my visitors stay 1 to 20 minutes and the search engines will NATURALLY drive more visitors to my sites.

If you’re interested about search engine optimization though, I do have a site where you can read more about it and download a free e-book : SEO Guide.

The tips I just shared with you are good for Get Paid to Blog Opportunities as well as Get Paid to Advertise opportunities such Google Adsense and TribalFusion.

Blogging for Profit | Make Money from Your Blog

Blogging (or setting up your own website) is a key to maximizing your potential to earn on the internet. For one, your blog can be a means to refer other people for survey sites, Paid-to-Clicks, and other paid-to-refer sites. You can also use your blog as a store where you can display Amazon, eBay, and affiliate products where you can earn commissions for every successful sales. Another use for your blog is to serve as your portfolio.

Getting a free blog. For a free blog, you can sign up at Blogger.com. You will get your own subdomain in the following format: your-domain.blogspot.com. For the free blog, I would prefer Blogger because you can display advertisements and make money from it. On the other hand, a free WordPress blog (the one you sign up for at WordPress.com) looks good but they don’t allow you to monetize it.

Getting a self-hosted blog. If you have the money (about $10 per year) to buy your own domain name and pay for the hosting, then I would recommend setting up a WordPress site. You can download the WordPress CMS on WordPress.org. Note that WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different. WordPress.com allows you to have a free wordpress subdomain, while WordPress.org allows you to download and set up your own WordPress site free from any limitations. I find that having your own domain helps to get more visitors to your site easily. But if you can’t afford it right away, you can rely on a free blog from Blogger for the meantime and save up to get your own domain.

Get Paid to Advertise. You can use your blog to earn from displaying ads. See the Make Money from Advertising article for a list of opportunities.

Get Paid to Write Articles. Some opportunities pay you for writing about certain events or companies online. You place the article on your blog and place a link to that opportunity. You can earn $5-$20 per 200 word article (and for very popular blogs you can earn $100-$500). See the Make Money from Blogging article for a list of such opportunities.

Get Paid to Refer People. Paid to Click sites pay you for referring people to them. You earn everytime your referrals participate. Many survey sites also pay you for referring people. To learn more about these opportunities, see the Make Money Referring People article.

Get Paid to Sell. Earn commissions by placing products from Amazon or eBay. You don’t have to have any product yourself, all you have to do is place the code from Amazon or eBay which will automatically display products related to your blog. You earn from 20% to 70% of the total product price. You can learn more about these opportunities on the Make Money Selling Online article.

Use it as your portfolio. You can use your blog as your portfolio or online curriculum vitae (CV). This will feature your skills and any previous works you have done to increase your chances of getting a job when you apply for Local Jobs or International Jobs. Refer your prospective clients to your portfolio.
