Pros and Cons

Choosing to work from home through the internet can be very rewarding. But before you decide to resign from your work or stop your academic studies hoping that you will earn more from the internet, here’s a few things to consider.

There are no shortcuts. First things first. There are no shortcuts to earning a significant income from the internet. I assure you that if someone is earning $1000 a month or higher, that person really deserves to earn it. It requires a lot of hard work. It requires guts for taking risks. It requires a mind that can step back in front of a very promising opportunity (e.g. “earn $1000 every day!! sign up for $37 dollars!!”), look at the risks, and take time to research and determine the legibility of the opportunity. Remember, that if there’s an opportunity presented to you that says it’s all easy and it only takes you 5 minutes each day, then more probably than not, that opportunity won’t earn you money in the long run.

Temptation of quitting work or school. Before sacrificing work or school, consider the risks. If you quit now, will you be able to pick up later? Are you already earning a stable income from the internet? If not, do you already know EXACTLY what to do in order to succeed in the internet?

Personality and Mindset. I must warn you beforehand that working from home requires you to be responsible for the direction of your own life. It requires that you make your own decision, you set your own goals, and it also requires guts for dealing with uncertainties. If you’re a person who prefers the stability of a job, then brace yourself for times when there may be no stable work for months. You need to keep a positive mental attitude. I recommend searching the internet for personal development audiobooks and seminars and spending time to listen to them. You can look for jobs in the Local Jobs section.

If you need money RIGHT NOW, look for a Local Job. If you’re in deep and immediate need of money, then I suggest you look in the Local Jobs section. Once you have that job, you can start working on internet-based income on a part-time basis.

Perseverance is a must. One thing that I find in common with the people who succeeded in earning money online is perseverance. I know one person who started as a blogger, but he wasn’t that good in writing English. Despite his initial lack in skills, he persevered and is now being rewarded handsomely.

Delayed gratification. Sometimes, something you work on today may pay off  in 6 months, or in a year. For example, a blog that you start today may not earn much for the first 6 months, but after the 6th month it earns consistently.

Earn dollars without having to work overseas. Working from home through the internet will allow you to earn dollars. If you’ve heard of people who earn dollars through the internet, I assure you that it really is possible.

Flexible time. Often, when working online, you will have control over your own time. This will allow you to spend more time with family, friends, and loved ones.

Be your own boss. You can become your own boss when working through the internet. You will decide your success and failure. There are no limits to your earning potential, as long as you manage your time well. Since you have no boss to prod you around, you’ll have to have a mindset that you will really work even without someone chasing your back.

Working from home is challenging! Working from home is not a breeze.  Unless you have someone experienced to guide you, there is often a margin of uncertainty in terms of time frame, investment, and the consequences for the risks that you take. There may be a lot of discouragement from peers, parents, and acquaintances telling you of the stories of how they failed.

Ask from people who have succeeded! If you want to succeed in earning money from the internet, it’s a key that you ask for other people’s experience. Don’t listen to people who have failed, they will only discourage you.

Plan for success. Plan your own schedule at the start of each week. If you’re currently employed, how will you fit in your internet hours with your work?
